Do Loyalty Coins Expire?

Do Loyalty Coins Expire?

For both automated and manual Loyalty Program users, we offer an “End of Year” loyalty coin expiration. Choosing this option will add an expiration date of the last day of the year to all Loyalty Transactions, including Invoices, Rewards, and Adjustments, resetting all coins to zero as of the first day of the year. This includes both positive and negative client balances.

For practices that have been using the loyalty program for years and select this option, pet owners that have accrued coins in previous years will also be reset at the end of the year.

To select this option, navigate to your Loyalty Program Settings page and check the “Coins Expire at End of Year” checkbox then click Save.

You will see a Coin Expires On and Expired Date column on both the Client Profile and the Loyalty Transaction Report. When a coin is assigned an expiration date, the date will be added to the Expires On column. When coins have passed their "expires on" date, the date will move from the Expires On column to the Expired Date column.

On the Loyalty Transaction Report, we have added the ability to filter on the Expires On and Expired Date columns.

If you are practice using the Loyalty Program on a shared database and one of the practices in the database enables the expiration feature, this will enable the expiration for all practices in the source.
